Intensive English Program
Northwood’s Intensive English Program (IEP) helps students improve their English skills while learning about American culture.
Build Your English Skills
Our IEP quickly builds your academic and social English skills, allowing you to adjust to life at Northwood and prepare to enter our degree programs.
The IEP is challenging, but it is also designed to be fun. You will attend social events on campus and throughout Michigan, so you can practice English and make new friends.
How IEP Works
IEP is a full-time program, with 20 hours of study each week and language lab practice.
You will first take an English Language Placement Test to place you in the best program level for your skills. There are five levels in the IEP, and each level takes one semester to complete. Students who complete Level 5 are eligible to transfer into a BBA program. Students who complete Level 6 are eligible to apply to a graduate program if they meet the GPA and TOEFL requirements.
