Short-Term Faculty-Led Programs

Northwood University offers short-term study abroad programs for students who want an educational experience in another culture, but cannot commit to a full length program. Short-term programs are available all over the world and taught by Northwood professors. Credit hours available for short-term programs range from three to fifteen.

Short-Term Program Cost and Financial Aid

Short-term study abroad programs charge a comprehensive fee.

Students are responsible for:

  • Their personal expenses

  • Some meals

  • Transport to/from the departing airport (usually Detroit)

The program fee includes the costs of:

  • International airfare and in-country transportation

  • Lodging

  • Tuition

  • Some meals

  • Activity fees

Applying for Short-term Programs

To apply for a short-term study abroad program, you will need to:

  1. Fill out the online application

  2. Pay the $500 deposit

  3. Complete the Course Substitution form with your Academic Advisor

  4. Send the Faculty Recommendation form to a Northwood faculty member to complete on your behalf
