Short-Term Programs

Northwood University offers short-term study abroad programs for students who want an educational experience in another culture, but cannot commit to a full length program.

Short-term programs are available all over the world and taught by Northwood professors. Most short-term programs offer three credits.

Short-Term Program Cost and Financial Aid

Short-term study abroad programs charge a comprehensive fee.

The program fee includes the costs of:

International airfare and in-country transportation at the destination
Lodging
Tuition
Some meals
Activity fees

Students are responsible for:

Their personal expenses
Some meals
Transport to/from the departing airport (usually Detroit)
Passport and visa
Tips where applicable

Applying for Short-Term Programs

To apply for a short-term study abroad program, you will need to:

Fill out the online application
Pay the $500 deposit
Complete the Course Substitution form with your Academic Advisor
Send the Faculty Recommendation form to a Northwood faculty member to complete on your behalf
